LeBron James has heard from all the NBA suitors trying to lure him away from the Miami Heat. Now, he'll talk to the Heat.

Miami Heat's fate in Chris Bosh's hands?

The question is whether James is going to put his head together with Heat team president Pat Riley to see how the Heat can position themselves to contend for another championship in 2014-15 or simply demand a progress report on how Riley has upgraded the roster.

USA TODAY Sports reports that James and his agent, Rich Paul, will meet with Riley in person early this week to discuss the state of the franchise. The specific date, time and location of the meeting have yet to be confirmed.

USA TODAY Sports speculated that James' willingness to talk to Riley would be comforting to Heat fans, but that sentiment seems premature. Last week, James, Chis Bosh and Dwyane Wade were reportedly going to give Riley a window of opportunity to lure free agents to play alongside them to get the Heat back in position to win a title.

Los Angeles Lakers talk to LeBron James' agent

The San Antonio Spurs dethroned the Heat last season in five games and have more of their pieces in place for 2014-15.

The Heat have not announced any significant moves since that Big Three ultimatum.

James already has put Riley, who engineered the union of the Big Three back in 2010 that produced four consecutive NBA Finals appearances and two championships, at a disadvantage by demanding a max contract that has stymied Riley's efforts to add free agents.

And instead of recruiting players to Miami, James and Bosh have gone on their own tours of other franchises. James has talked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers about joining their respective teams.

Bosh reportedly also is seeking a max-value contract, putting Riley further in a bind.

According to USA TODAY Sports, James is scheduled to fly to Brazil for the World Cup Finals on July 13. It would seem that if he has not agreed to return to the Heat by then, he might not be returning to the Heat at all.
