Brazilian superstar Neymar said his dream of celebrating the World Cup championship with his teammates is still alive despite him being out of the tournament due to a fractured vertebra.

The 22-year old made this statement in a video released by the Brazilian football confederation. In the said clip, Neymar thanked his supporters. Part of his statement, via the Associated Press: "I don't have words to describe what has been going through my head and my heart. I just want to say that I will be back as soon as possible. When you least expect I'll be back.''

He continued: ''My dream is not over yet. It was interrupted by one move, but it will continue and I'm certain that my teammates will do whatever possible so I can fulfill my dream of being a champion. I won't be able to fulfill the dream of playing in a World Cup final, but I'm sure they will win this one, they will become champions, and I will be there with them, and all of Brazil will be celebrating together.''

This is the first time the superstar spoke publicly since the injury he sustained on Friday when his team won over Columbia, 2-1, to book a seat in the semifinals.

The AP report added that Brazil doctor Jose Luiz Ronco had guaranteed that the injury will not have any serious effects on the career of Neymar. The specialist added he sees the soccer star returning to action in 45 days.

Even Brazil president Dilma Rouseff paid tribute to Neymar in a letter of support. Part of her letter read: ''Your expression of pain on the field yesterday (Friday) hurt my heart and the hearts of every Brazilian. I know that as a Brazilian you never give up, and sooner than expected you will be back filling our souls with happiness and our history with success.''
