WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross is back at his blog on Jrsbarbq.com to share his thoughts on what's going on in the wrestling world.

Cesaro Expected To Win IC Gold At WWE Battleground

Ross touched on the recent arrest of WWE Diva Emma, who was picked up for allegedly trying to steal an iPhone case from a Connecticut Wal-Mart near the site of WWE's Monday Night RAW telecast earlier this week. Emma was then fired and re-hired by the company within a span of a few hours.

Ross came to the defense of Emma, whose real name is Tenille Dashwood, and took her side on the incident.

Updated Plans For WWE SummerSlam

"Seems as if too many people are jumping to conclusion regarding Emma's arrest for shoplifting," Ross blogged. "Count me as someone who has forgotten to pay for a small item at a grocery store, etc. and then went back in to settle up. My dealings with Emma have been nothing but positive when I was traveling to Orlando and Tampa to work with the young talents. I have no issue giving her the benefit of the doubt in this matter."

Ross also talked about Chris Jericho's return to the WWE as he made a surprising comeback on the company's flagship show this past Monday and interrupted The Miz, who was also returning from a hiatus. The Wyatt Family then surrounded Jericho in the ring after he hit Miz with a Codebreaker, in a storyline that is set to lead to a singles match between Bray Wyatt and Jericho at SummerSlam.

"Chris Jericho looks physically good and that's thanks to DDP Yoga considering Jericho's massive work load and travel schedule," Ross wrote. "Bray Wyatt will have a positive experience working with someone new and that's better than him in the immediate future. This is good, strategic booking with the goal to obviously have some entertaining TV but to help Bray continue to grow as a talent."

Ross noted that new WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena has been cast as a villain in Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's upcoming comedy movie The Nest and Ross wondered what would happen if Cena's character turned heel and if he'll have a shorter title reign because of the film.

"Some fans should be happy that John Cena is going to be cast as a villain in a new Tina Fey/Amy Poehler film," Ross said. "I wonder if the fans that boo Cena today would cheer him tomorrow if he turned heel in WWE? This movie role could also lead to speculation that this current WWE World Title reign for Cena isn't going to be a long one. I'm still guessing [SummerSlam] will see a new champ crowned."

Lastly, Ross blogged about the upcoming battle royal for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship at Battleground on July 20 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Florida. Cesaro is currently the favorite to win the match, but Ross said he doesn't care much for battle royals.

"For the record, I'm not a battle royal guy. Never have been since the days of when I was a Ref," Ross wrote. "Too much fun and games at times during these matches and generally fans don't emotionally invest until the match [is] down to a small, handful of talents. I can see one occurring annually like the old San Francisco Cow Palace days, etc. but that's about it. I hope it works out better than I expect for WWE to crown a new IC Champion via the battle royal route."
