There were multiple reports coming out of Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan appeared in his ring gear after the show went off the air and addressed the crowd, and the reason he was in his ring gear was because he was filming a commercial.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Bryan appeared after the main event finished and the cameras stopped rolling for SmackDown on Tuesday in Newark, N.J. and he was wearing his ring gear because he filmed an anti-smoking public service announcement.

The PSA depicts a fan that is so addicted to smoking that he misses Bryan publicly thank him in front of the WWE Universe because he was outside the arena smoking.

According to fan reports from those who attended the show, after filming the PSA, Bryan cut a similar promo to the one he conducted at Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view about how he plans to come back to the ring healthy and better than ever.

Bryan has been sidelined since mid-May after undergoing neck surgery to repair injuries he sustained over the course of his career from years of wear and tear he's put on his body. Bryan said on Sunday that he hasn't regained the full feeling in his arm and may have to undergo another surgery.

"I've got some bad news," Bryan said on the Money in the Bank pre-show. "I don't know when I'm gonna be back, unfortunately. The strength hasn't come back in my arm and they're talking about doing another surgery. But I promise you that I will be back and when I'm back I will be better than ever."

Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX in April by defeating Triple H and then going on to beat Randy Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat Match later that night. After taking time off to marry WWE Diva Brie Bella and attend his father's funeral after he passed, it was later revealed that Bryan had a neck injury.

Bryan is expected to drastically tone down his style when he is finally cleared to return to active competition.

The timetable for his return has always been a question, and after he received bad news about the way his body is healing after the operation, the WWE was forced to vacate the title and put it on the line in an eight-man Ladder Match that was won by John Cena at Money in the Bank and had to cancel the planned Stretcher Match between Bryan and Kane.

It is unknown when Bryan will return, but he made a brief appearance for the WWE after SmackDown was done filming on Tuesday.
