The UFC and Fox Sports announced Monday night that they have terminated their respective broadcasting service agreements with former middleweight contender Chael Sonnen.

The decisions were made on the heels of Sonnen's failed random drug test conducted in June by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Test results revealed four banned substances in Sonnen's system -- human growth hormone, erythropoietin, anastrozole and human chorionic gonadotropin. Sonnen also failed an NSAC random drug test in May and was placed on temporary suspension.

Immediately after the failed test in June, Sonnen was pulled from UFC 175 where he was slated to meet Vitor Belfort in a co-main event bout. Sonnen was originally scheduled to fight Wanderlei Silva at the July 5 event in Las Vegas. But Silva was removed from the card after skipping out on a random test.

Sonnen announced his retirement from mixed martial arts on June 11. The 37-year-old finished his professional career with a record of 28-14-1.
