Reports have circulated that Dashwood was arrested at a Connecticut Wal-Mart after she tried to steal an iPhone case from the store, however those reports have not been fully confirmed.
The WWE is has acknowledged the arrest and issued a statement to PWInsider following the news going public.
"WWE is aware that Tenille Dashwood (WWE Diva Emma) was arrested for shoplifting," the statement read. "Ms. Dashwood is ultimately responsible for her personal actions."
Dashwood, 25, signed a developmental deal with the WWE in 2011 and became a key part of the company's NXT roster before being called up to the main roster in January and has been paired up with Santino Marella since her arrival.
It remains to be seen what course of action WWE will take to punish Dashwood following the arrest going public, but amidst a series of budget cuts and on the heels of the WWE releasing several talents last month, she picked an interesting time to shoplift.
