The Brooklyn Nets suddenly have a need for a head coach and with free agency about to begin, they need to move fast. The Nets have plenty of options for their next head coach, but who has the best chance of landing the job in Brooklyn.

Mark Jackson: Jackson would be an ideal hire for the Nets and if he didn't butt heads with the Warriors front office, he could have very well remained in Golden State. Jackson is familiar with New York as he spent some of his NBA career with the Knicks and played his college ball at St. Johns. Jackson has had plenty of experience in the NBA and had a lot of success with the Warriors, it is just a matter of when Jackson wants to return to the bench.

Lionel Hollins: Hollins is the leading candidate for the Nets job and will likely interview in the coming days. Hollins is another coach with a ton of success at the position and is overdue for another job. Hollins name has been thrown around for plenty NBA openings, but the Nets are a solid combination of success and location that could draw the former Grizzlies coach out.

Ettore Messina: Messina has won four Euroleague championships with his Russian team and has connections to Andrei Kirilenko. Mikhail Prokhorov could vie for a guy that he knows from his time coaching a Russian team and, after the embarrassing show that Kidd put on, it could be a safe bet. Messina has had success and he is a familiar face, a perfect combination if you are in Mikhail Prokhorov's current situation.
