Former Super Bowl champion Osi Umenyiora is looking to win another ring after signing with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday. The free-agent defensive end signed a two-year, $8.5 million contract to become the newest member of a team that was a game shy of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl last season.

Umenyiora is a ten year veteran who has spent his entire career with the New York Giants. During his tenure in New York, Umenyiora won two Super Bowls, which he believes is due to the team's experience in a playoff atmosphere.

"A lot of times, being able to get to that game or win that game is not even about the coaches or the organization," Umenyiora told ESPN. "This team is the most talented team I've seen in my life, probably. But it's not going to be about coaching. It's going to be about what the players are able to do, and you need that veteran leadership. You need guys who have been in those games and can tell you about exactly what happened."

Atlanta has made the playoffs four of the last five years, but their first-round win over the Seahawks in 2013 remains their lone win during that span. Umenyiora believes that as soon as he singed with the Falcons he felt "an immediate sense of responsibility".
