LeBron James may be interested in a sign-and-trade scenario that lands him with the Los Angeles Clippers and alongside close pal Chris Paul.

Just hours after James' associates informed the Miami Heat the four-time league MVP plans to opt out of the final two years of his current deal come July 1, Yahoo! reported the 29-year-old James could be open to taking his talents to L.A.

The website added James is expected to soon meet with Big 3 teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh and all three "will have a strong idea about whether they'll continue together in Miami" prior to July 1. James is also expected to soon have talks with Heat owner Micky Arison and president Pat Riley, who has implored his Big 3 "not to run out the door."

James, who could sign a max deal with the Heat for as much as $114 million over five years, is also rumored to be intrigued by the prospect of playing for Clippers' coach Doc Rivers.

Another option for James could be a return to his hometown Cleveland cavs, who James infamously left after the 2010 season, prompting owner Dan Gilbert to blast him as a traitor. The Houston Rockets are also rumored to be interested in teaming James with Dwight Howard and James Harden.

James averaged 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Heat this season. The 10-time all-star's best season came with Cleveland in 2005-06 when he averaged 31 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
