The defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens introduced Elvis Dumervil as the newest member of their franchise on Tuesday. Dumervil, who went through an offseason of uncertainty in recent days, says that he may have to play the 2013 season with a "brick wall" on his shoulder.

"I think at times in life you deal with people who say you can't do this or you shouldn't do that," Dumervil told ESPN. "In this world, you have to prove a point and prove yourself...I have a chip on my shoulder, I may have a brick wall now. I'm so excited. I can't wait to get out with the guys and really compete."

Dumervil agreed to a pay cut with his former team, the Denver Broncos, during the first week of the NFL's free agency period. However, his agent failed to fax in the paperwork to the NFL offices before the league's 4:00 p.m. ET deadline.

Dumervil entered free agency and agreed to a five-year contract with the Ravens on Sunday, a deal that became official Tuesday after passing his physical.
