One month after saying he wasn't close to returning and 12 weeks removed from surgery, Tiger Woods will return to the PGA Tour for the Quicken Loans National at Congressional Country Club. Woods said his game is rusty but he will work off the rust by playing in competitive events starting with newt weeks tournament.

Tiger sent out a message via his Facebook page and said that he will be returning next week and he believes he is all healed up.

"After a lot of therapy I have recovered well and will be supporting my foundation next week at the Quicken Loans National,'' Woods said in the post. "I've just started to hit full shots but it's time to take the next step. I will be a bit rusty but I want to play myself back into competitive shape. Excited for the challenge ahead.’'

The 38-year-old Woods had a procedure called a microdiscectomy on March 31 to alleviate a pinched nerve in his back and now he stands healthy 12 weeks later. Woods missed two majors this season to add to the total of six he has missed his entire career. This year’s Masters was the first time that Woods missed the major in Augusta National.

Now that Woods is healthy he will instantly become the favorite at almost all events in a field that has been craving his return. The PGA’s television ratings have been historically low this year and it could be directly connected to Woods’ absence and lackluster play.
