Amir Khan, whose career as a top-notch fighter appeared to be in serious jeopardy after back-to-back losses to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia, has rebounded from rock bottom with three straight wins. After dominating Luis Collazo for the WBA International welterweight belt, he has his sights set on super fights.

Khan was in the running to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May, citing his blazing hand speed and upper echelon skills as reasons he'd be the best fit to challenge the pound-for-pound king. Instead, Marcos Maidana got the shot and lost a competitive majority decision. Now, Floyd plans on fighting in September which rules out Khan because he'll be observing Ramadan during the time needed to train.

That's why he mentioned several big names as possibilities. "I am looking at the likes of (Juan Manuel) Marquez and Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather - they are the big names and that is where I belong fighting the top guys. There are talks about Manny Pacquiao happening in the future - may be next. So I have left my team, Al Haymon and my team Khan Promotions to do everything," Khan said.

Ultimately, every fighter anywhere near 154 lbs. wants to face Mayweather for the biggest payday of their lives. Khan, though, staunchly believes he'll get his wish someday.

"The fight between me and Floyd Mayweather is going to happen one day. As long as I keep winning and putting on great performances, it is definitely going to happen. But I cannot do September because of Ramadan. The next time that it could happen is in May. I can fight then so it could be Floyd's next fight after September," Khan said to Sky Sports.

Before that, though, a Pacquiao fight would be big bucks as well. One problem-Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach doesn't seem very interested in the matchup. "He [Khan] throws combinations and holds now, it's so boring," Roach said. "It's smart but not fun to watch, I don't want to stink the place out."
