Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors: Joel Embiid May Have Broken Foot, Andrew Wiggins New Favorite For No. 1 Pick ? [VIDEO]

Joel Embiid’s draft stock takes a major hit as his mentor and agent confirm that he has suffered a foot injury and it may be broken. Embiid has been considered the top prospect in the NBA draft by some, but now his status is in question.

Embiid was already recovering from a back injury that kept him out of the NCAA tournament and was facing questions about his ability to stay healthy all offseason.

"He suffered a foot injury to his right foot, sometime over the last few days,'' agent Arn Tellem told ESPN's Andy Katz by phone Thursday. "He's getting evaluations from various doctors and experts in the field. We'll know more Friday.’'

Another source from ESPN said they they heard that the foot is broken, but wouldn't report on the record until the results come back.

The 7-foot native of Cameroon averaged 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks as a freshman at Kansas and burst on the scene when all the spotlights were on his teammate Andrew Wiggins.

Now that Embiid is hurt, it looks like the Cavaliers will opt to select Duke’s Jabari Parker or Wiggins with the No. 1 overall pick.
