Two of the biggest icons in professional sports finally met Tuesday night, courtesy of the Los Angeles Kings.

Larry David curbs his enthusiasm at LA Kings game

Extramustard.si.com reported that legendary Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully finally met at Dodger Stadium when several members of the Kings threw out the first pitch during the Dodgers' game against the Colorado Rockies after winning the Stanley Cup last weekend in five games against the New York Rangers.

Extramustard.si.com also posted a video from MLB.com of Scully's broadcast with the Cup in the Dodgers' radio booth.

"Boy, are we thrilled and honored tonight; it has never happened to me before," Scully began when the Cup was taken to Scully's workspace. "For the first time in the Dodger broadcast booth, we have the Stanley Cup. What a thrill that is."

LA Kings sideline reporter unwittingly ridicules actor Matthew Perry

The 86-year-old Scully show off how sharp he was, talking about the Rangers - the team he followed growing up. He remembered a goalie named Davie Kerr and marveled that Kerr didn't wear a facemask back then.

He then reeled off the Kings series victories over the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks, leading up to the finals series win over the Rangers.

Scully was at his best in talking up the Kings while still monitoring Dodgers pitcher Zach Greinke's at-bat against the Rockies in which he struck out on a foul-ball bunt.

"Heartiest of congratulations and thanks for going through the trouble of bringing this beauty up here," Scully said. "Meanwhile, the bunt goes foul and that'll do it for Greinke.

"Is it true you were making margaritas in that thing on television? Well, I'm sure you washed off all the salt."

Scully was referring to the appearances of Kings captain Justin Williams and series-clinching goal scorer Alec Martinez on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in which they did make margaritas.
