That Ghanian witch doctor is good.

The Toronto Sun is one of multiple media outlets reporting that a doctor has told Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo that his career is at risk if he continues to play in the World Cup on his tendinitis-stricken knee.

Two weeks ago, a Ghanian witch doctor, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, claimed that he put a curse on the Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo to make him miss the tournament in Brazil.

Ronaldo returned to play in Portugal's 4-0 opening-round loss to Germany, but the injury is worse than originally thought.

According to the Sun, Ronaldo's doctor has told him that he could risk tearing the tendon in his left knee if he continues to play, which could put his soccer future in doubt.

Ronaldo and the Portuguese are scheduled to play the United States on Sunday in the second match of the Group G division.

CBSSports.com reported that Ronaldo cut his training session short on Wednesday and had an ice pack on the left knee on the sidelines for the remainder of the team's practice.

Ronaldo said he was healthy entering the World Cup but missed regular training sessions and two warmup matches prior to the team's departure for Brazil.

Portugal also will be without back Pepe, striker Hugo Almeida and defender Fabio Coentrao. The U.S. is expected to miss Jozy Altidore, who has a hamstring injury. Clint Dempsey is expected to play with a broken nose.

Bonsam said his spell has been four months in the making.

"I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana," he said. "This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual."
