CM Punk hasn't appeared on WWE television since he walked out on the company back in January but the "Best in the World' will return to the small screen Thursday night on IFC's Maron television show.
Triple H Confirms Second MITB Ladder Match And Seth Rollins' Involvement
It was revealed a few months ago that Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, would be making an appearance on the show this season. The episode was filmed a few months ago and is slated to air Thursday night at 10 p.m. ET on IFC.
Here is the synopsis for the appearance:
"When CM Punk stops by the garage this week, he and Marc find out there's a lot in common between wrestling and comedy. Both professions beat people up - mainly themselves! Marc reveals his wrestling name would be "The Self Hater" for his self-destructive ways and CM declares he's "Captain Body Dysmorphia" for how he keeps his body on point for the sport."

Punk quit the WWE due to frustration with his use and being burned out prior to a January Monday Night RAW live telecast on the night after the Royal Rumble, but he has popped up in various places since his departure from the squared circle. Punk is still under contract with the WWE, but he hasn't appeared with the company in five months despite the fact that his deal isn't up until July.
Punk appeared on AMC's television program Talking Dead earlier this year to discuss that night's episode of The Walking Dead zombie television show, so it won't be his first television appearance since walking out.
Punk, a Chicago native, has appeared at various Cubs and Blackhawks games this year, even participating in the Shoot The Puck Challenge at a Blackhawks game and breaking his Twitter silence to place a wager with the Los Angeles Kings mascot over the outcome of the Western Conference Finals series that the Blackhawks eventually lost in seven.
The WWE had initially made efforts to get Punk to come back, but after he skipped the Chicago episode of RAW on March 3 and WrestleMania XXX on April 6, it became clear that he had no intentions of returning to the company. The WWE has mentioned him at certain points on television, but haven't fully addressed his reasons for leaving.
The company recently took liberties by taking shots at Punk on his company Facebook page, embedding videos about various Superstars who "threw in the towel" on his page.
While he's gone from the company, he still has ties to it as he reportedly married WWE Diva A.J. Lee over the weekend. Lee took time off from the WWE following WrestleMania XXX to move in with Punk in Chicago following their engagement and there's no telling when she'll return.
Punk is likely not going to return to the WWE, but he will make his return to television Thursday night when he appears on Maron on the IFC Network.
