After the WWE fired 11 talents on Thursday, there has been a reported fear and paranoia backstage that more talents and WWE creative executives could be fired, and reports indicate that a head writer was fired on Friday.

What Happened When RAW Went Off The Air, Updated MITB Card

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, McMahon let go of head WWE writer Jay Gibson just a day after releasing 11 talents from the roster. There was speculation after the 11 talents were let go that some office workers would be fired, and it seemed as though the office workers made it through the weekend unscathed until reports surfaced that Gibson was released.

Monday night's edition of RAW was the first WWE television show without the long-time writer since his firing and McMahon reportedly had a lot of say on the creative side of most of the segments that aired, including one that saw Stephanie McMahon throw up on Vickie Guerrero after Roman Reigns tampered with her coffee.

Daniel Bryan Expected To Tone Down His Style When He Returns

Those types of segments are a favorite of McMahon's and he is reportedly looking at continuing to reduce the WWE's payroll and is leading a campaign to make budget cuts by any means possible. One area that the WWE is reportedly looking to cut-back the budget is at NXT.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that a source noted that the budget for NXT has already been cut when it comes to production and post-production. The WWE is slated to evaluate the roster of NXT soon and there is expected to be a number of releases announced in July to further those cuts.

McMahon recently lost a lot of money in a short span due to the WWE stock taking a hit and the WWE Network receiving an underwhelming amount of subscriptions as well as the WWE inking a television deal that was subpar compared to the deal that they were projected to land.

The WWE is "staggering" the cuts to be fiscally responsible on Wall Street in order to not set off any internal panic.

The WWE announced on Thursday that JTG, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Aksana, Curt Hawkins, Theodore Long, Camacho, Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu and referee Mark Harris had all been released from the company and wished them all the best on their future endeavors.

The binge-firing led to a lot of talents backstage to start to worry about their jobs with reports of paranoia running rampant in the locker room among those talents who aren't top stars.

It remains to be seen if the WWE will fire any more Superstars, but with expected cuts looming it is a tumultuous time to be a talent on the roster right now.
