The Chicago Cubs’ fire sale rumors continue as they are reportedly shopping all of their starting pitchers including ace Jeff Samardzija. There are mixed reports on who is interested and who isn’t, but the San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees are the favorites to make a deal with the Cubs.
Mixed reports are coming out of Chicago, but the Giants are rumored to be highly interested in Samardzija and the Yankees are interested in Jason Hammel.
Sources: Cubs telling teams they are willing to listen to offers for starting pitchers Samardzija, Hammel, E. Jackson and Arrieta. (more)

Cubs not planning to *trade* all 4, but they want to see what market values are for each and then decide on course. Due diligence. — Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) June 16, 2014
@Yankees rumor has it that the Cubs are looking to trade Samardzija & Hammel. Go get them!!!! #GetTanakaHelp — Graig Sakuma (@805Pineapple) June 15, 2014
The Cubs are rumored to be listening to any and all offers for their starting pitchers, but aren’t expected to make a move unless it is a offer they cannot refuse. The question with Samardzija is if he would take less money to stay in San Francisco as the Giants wouldn't be willing to sign another huge deal to a starting pitcher. The Yankees, on the other hand, would love to overspend on Hammel or Samardzija, but most likely do not have the trading pieces to acquire the ladder.
The Cubs are expected to move some of their pitching talent and at this point it is a matter of when and who as opposed to if. The Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners are also in contact with the Cubs.
