The Phoenix Suns have a decision to make when it comes to Eric Bledsoe and the 2014 free agency period. The Suns have numerous options with Bledsoe, but no matter if they were to sign him or trade him Bledsoe wants to have a max contract this free agency.
According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, Bledsoe is completely committed to receiving a max contract from a team this off season. The Suns will have the chance to match on any offer Bledsoe agrees to and team president Lon Babby believed, in February, Phoenix will match on the restricted free agent.
"I think our answer to that is yes, that we know enough about Eric as a player. Even more importantly, we've lived with him now for almost a year as a person. We like everything about him. Like him as a teammate, like him as a representative of our franchise and everything that he stands for."
The Suns made this announcement in a month that Bledsoe didn't see the court so it is likely the teams opinion of him hasn't weakened. Bledsoe only appeared in 43 games in 2013-14, but when he did play he was steller for the Suns. Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds a game in his limited action.
The Suns are building something special in Phoenix as they have Goran Dragic and loads of young talent. If the Suns could retain Bledsoe and make a move on a second max contract player, the Suns could be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.
