It has been reported that Ric Flair will return to WWE television soon as a regular on-air character, and it appears as though the day "The Nature Boy" returns to WWE television is rapidly approaching.

Flair, who was by his daughter Charlotte's side when she captured the NXT Women's Championship at the NXT Takeover special on the WWE Network when she defeated Natalya, who was flanked by Bret "Hitman" Hart, will soon fulfill a full-time role for the WWE's main roster.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Flair went to Pittsburgh for medical tests that he was required to take before the WWE would bring the two-time Hall of Famer onto television as a regular character again. It had been reported that the tests were the only thing standing in the way of Flair's return but now that they're done there shouldn't be any more hurdles for him to go through.

Will Sting Be At Monday Night RAW Next Week?

Word was sent down that Flair passed all of the required tests and should return to WWE soon. It had been rumored that he would be fulfilling a manager and mentor role upon returning.

Flair wanted to work with Dolph Ziggler, but with Ziggler being in the WWE's doghouse and not getting pushed by the company, it is unlikely that Flair will get to work with him. There was some speculation that he may join up with The Shield, but now that Seth Rollins has turned on them it remains unlikely.

Flair could end up aligning himself in the corner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose as they battle Triple H, Randy Orton and Rollins throughout the summer, but it's more likely that the WWE will put him in the corner of The Miz.

Flair and The Miz have done a program with each other in the past where Flair allowed Miz to use his patented Figure-Four Leglock and was a mentor to him. It seems as though the WWE is likely to revert back to that storyline and have Flair guide him once again.

Flair hasn't been an active competitor in the WWE since he was retired by Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV in 2008, but he has wrestled elsewhere. The WWE won't be bringing him in to fulfill a wrestling role as the company hasn't had him compete since losing that match to Michaels.

It remains to be seen if Flair will in fact be paired with The Miz, but he will definitely be returning to the WWE in some capacity very shortly.
