Matt Forte can't wait to take the field as the featured back in the Bears high-powered offense telling the Chicago Tribune he expects coach Marc Trestman's innovative schemes to make his team's offense perhaps the best in the league.

"If we keep working hard we're going to take this offense, hopefully, to the top of the league," said Forte. "There's no ceiling. There's no limit that you can put on it."

Pro Bowl changes looming?

Already boasting one of the league's top receiving duos in Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, the Bears have added several new faces to the mix over the offseason, including former Notre Dame star quarterback Jimmy Clausen.

"We brought Clausen in because we want to have competition and Jimmy was available," said Trestman, who expects the veteran quarterback to serve as a backup to star Jay Cutler. "It's just the way it worked out."

Jay Cutler to remain Bears starter

The Tribune adds the Bears have yet to decide how many quarterbacks they will actually carry to training camp, but the team stresses the Clausen signing in no way suggests the team was not satisfied with the potential backups already on the roster.

Now in his sixth season, the 28-year-old Forte rushed for a career-high 1,339 yards and nine touchdowns last season. Overall, he has now topped 1,000 yards four times and has also averaged just under 500 yards receiving each year.
