Two clubs in the Western Conference of MLS will do battle today in a league match between Real Salt Lake and the Portland Timbers. The first-division clash scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET will be held at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah and can be live streamed here.
After a grueling eight-day stretch, the Timbers nearly saw themselves escape with a full nine points. A 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday saw that dream end. The club must now find a way to rebound after suffering what defender Jack Jewsbury considers a disappointment.
"We realized our goal going into an eight-day stretch with three games was to get nine points. When you look back on it the first two on the road, some people would say we did the hard part. Then coming back here we felt very confident," said Jewsbury (via MLS's official website). "I think everyone on this team for the past week has shown that they belong," he added.
"We used a lot of guys in different roles. It's just disappointing the last step of that process was to get three points today and we fell a bit short."
