After a memorable ending to Monday Night RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross took to his blog at Jrsbarbq.com to speak about Seth Rollins turning on the Shield by laying out partners Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns with steel chairs and joining Evolution.

"RAW was an o.k. show with a hot ending," Ross wrote. "Therefore the thing that most people will take away from the broadcast was Seth Rollins turning his back on Ambrose and Reigns and apparently aligning himself with HHH and Randy Orton.

Or did he?"

Rollins seemed to pair up with Triple H and Orton by attacking his former Shield partners with chairs to close the show. It seems as though the move was made so that Rollins can fill the void in Evolution that is left after Batista walked out to go on hiatus for two months in order to promote Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. "The Animal" is slated for an August return.

The Hall of Fame former announcer also said that he would have liked to have seen The Shield stay together, but understood the WWE decided to change things up on its flagship program.

"I always thought that Dean Ambrose was the natural heel of the Shield but I've got no issues with Seth Rollins doing the dirty deed even though in a perfect world I would have preferred that the Shield stay together a little longer," he wrote. "Apparently, WWE felt compelled to re-shuffle the deck which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd assume that several dominoes will fall as time moves forward and the company prepares for a major push to [SummerSlam]. In other words, I'd assume that multiple cards are up in the air and won't land on the table until August."

Ross said that Rollins has many strengths including his mic skills, and that he believes the future is bright for Reigns, especially when it comes to plans for WrestleMania 31 next March in the Bay Area.

"Rollins can talk and is extremely athletic and those two traits are generally considered essential to be a successful pro wrestling villain," wrote Ross. "Rollins is a bumping machine ala HBK in his healthy, heel days. Still thinking @WWERomanReigns is WWE Champ coming out of WM31."

It's unknown at this point which member of The Shield will leave the best impression on the WWE, but Rollins' heel turn was a shocking development on WWE RAW, and he can only excel while being aligned with guys that are the caliber of Randy Orton and Triple H.
