But even with all that experience and acclaim some see Brown and Lakers' star Kobe Bryant making for a strange pairing. For one thing, both are accustomed to getting their way and at this point in their respective careers might have trouble adjusting to other.

The Lakers are also already known to have interviewed Byron Scott, Alvin Gentry Lionel Hollins and Mike Dunleavy Sr. and at the time of reaching out to Brown also reached out to Scott Skiles, all but assuring whomever gets the job of coaching Bryant over what are thought to be his last couple seasons will be a veteran coach with plenty of NBA game experience.

The Lakers are also rumored to be interested in speaking with former guard and Bryant backcourt mate Derek Fisher, also thought to be a candidate for the Knicks opening under Phil Jackson.

With Bryant sidelined for all bix six games, the Lakers struggled to a 27-55 finishing this season, the worst in team history and prompting Bryant to implore fans to "flush" the memory of it from their collective psyche.
