In the aftermath of Sunday night's WWE Payback pay-per-view, the company will now switch gears to the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 29 live from the TD Garden in Boston, on a night where a Money in the Bank Ladder match will headline the show.

WWE Payback 2014 Results

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, while there have been multiple ladder matches at past shows, the current plan for the WWE is to do one multi-man Money in the Bank Ladder Match with the winner going on to earn a contract for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship anytime within the next year.

The report indicates that Cesaro is a candidate to win and is currently seen as the favorite to leave Boston with the briefcase. Cesaro is coming off of a loss to United States Champion Sheamus at Payback, but the WWE still has big plans for him after pairing him with Paul Heyman following his Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal victory at WrestleMania XXX on April 6.

With the match being just under four weeks away, no winner has been decided for it just yet and the participants have yet to be finalized. Thus far, Cesaro is the front-runner to win the match and there have been discussions about making him the winner.

There were reports last week that due to Daniel Bryan's neck injury, the WWE may vacate the title and have the belt itself be the prize in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Bryan underwent neck surgery last month but his timetable for a return has been a bit cloudy, leading to some doubt over the future of the gold.

The latest developments over the belt have been a series of back-and-forth promos between Bryan and Stephanie McMahon, with McMahon giving Bryan an ultimatum to forfeit the belt or she would fire Brie Bella. At Payback, Bella quit so that Bryan wouldn't have to forfeit the gold, but what happens next remains to be seen.

Though there was a possibility of the belt being on the line, it appears as though the briefcase will still be the prize in the ladder match.

Money in the Bank airs live Sunday, June 29 from the TD Garden in Boston, and Cesaro could very well walk out with the briefcase.
