The 76ers grabbed a great piece in the 2013 NBA draft in Michael Carter-Williams, but could his stay in Philadelphia be one and done? Rumors are circulating that the reigning Rookie of the Year could be a major trade piece and not the future of the 76ers.

ESPN’s Chad Ford was asked during a Q&A session about the chances of the 76ers dealing Carter-Williams.

"(Sixers GM) Sam Hinkie is as asset collector. There are no untouchables on the second worst team in the NBA right now. Carter-Williams may have over performed a bit this rookie year given the situation he was in. If a team blew away the Sixers with an offer for him, yes I think they'd consider it. They like Dante Exum and if they got another piece for Williams that made them better in the long-term, I think they could be willing to let him go."

The 76ers own the third pick in the NBA draft this time around and it is assumed that they will take the last remaining of the big three. Grabbing either Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker or Joel Embiid would be a huge get for Philadelphia, but apparently they would also like to add Dante Exum.

Could the pairing of Embiid with Exum be more appealing to the 76ers than Carter-Williams? The 76ers rebuild is in full swing and with Nerlens Noel expected to debut in 2014, the 76ers could have one dangerous starting five. Like Ford said, it would have to be an offer he couldn't refuse to move Carter-Williams, but the fact that the Rookie of the Year is still available is a little head scratching.
