During his time with the Boston Red Sox, Manny Ramirez was the player everyone hated to love or loved to hate depending on your fandom. Now that his best baseball is behind him, Ramirez offered an apology to a specific person within the Red Sox organization as they honored Manny and the rest of the 2004 Red Sox.

Ramirez reached out to traveling secretary Jack McCormick, with whom Manny had an incident in 2008. Ramirez got in a heated argument with McCormick over tickets from the night before and threw him to the floor. Manny had never apologized to McCormick in person before Wednesday.

"I went and spoke to Jack," Ramirez said. "I apologized to Jack. I told him, 'Jack, I want you to forgive me because it was my fault. I behaved bad here with everybody. I want you to forgive me.’"

Ramirez said McCormick accepted the apology and said he had been waiting for that since 2008. Although Ramirez received a huge welcome in his return to Fenway Park for the 2004 championship celebration, his time in Boston did not end well at all. Ramirez was traded to the Dodgers in 2008 when he simply refused to play in a few games.

The 41-year-old Ramirez was the MVP of the 2004 World Series and took the Red Sox to the championship again in 2007. Ramirez recently signed on with the Chicago Cubs to be a player-coach in the farm leagues. When asked about his next opportunity, Manny said he knows why he is going to Chicago and there will be no problems from him.

"I'm not going to take any at-bats from the prospects," he said. "I know my role there.”
