Cruz Azul Waiting Until After World Cup To Decide On Marco Fabian?

It's been all smiles in the Mexican national team camp. Literally, all smiles. The team has a myriad of selfies floating around social media to prove it. In keeping with that theme, head coach Miguel Herrera is looking to boost morale with tonight's performance against Israel. He must first, however, pay tribute to former Mexican international Cuauhtemoc Blanco, who will start for El Tri one final time.

"Cuauhtemoc will start. [Despite him being 41 years old], the match will not be compromised. We think he'll play around 15 to 20 minutes," Herrera said in a press conference (via CNN Mexico). "We have to remember the importance of having a player like that on the pitch. His substitue could be Raul [Jimenez] or Chicharito [Hernandez], so we cab keep two central forwards."

Club America Targeting Lucas Lobos?

"The chemistry with Cuauhtemoc [and the players] has been sensational," he added.

"We're expecting a well-deserved tribute to him on the pitch. We're going to make sure he plays a bit."

Tactical Preview

Player to Watch: Once the dog and pony show has exited the pitch, preparing for the 2014 World Cup will jump to the forefront of Mexico's priorities. The one player Herrera should substitute for Blanco is Chicharito Hernandez. The 25-year-old has been out of form for both club and country and would benefit greatly from a return to the pitch.

Mexico's Projected Lineup (5-3-2): Corona; Layún, Rodriguez, Salcido, Reyes, Aguilar; Fabián, Herrera, Brizuela; Cuauhtémoc, Peralta

Israel's Projected Lineup (4-4-2): Harush; Shpungin, Gershon, Ben Haim, Ben Harush; Yeini, Kayal, Zahavi, Rafaelov; Damari, Sahar
