Two clubs chasing the Canadian championship and a berth in the 2014 CONCACAF Champions League will do battle today in a league match between Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact. The cup final scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET will be held at BMO Field in Toronto and can be live streamed here free.
After failing to defend their Canadian crown in 2014, Toronto FC enter tonight's match looking to take the first steps toward recapturing it. They'll have to, however, get past the defending champions, the Montreal Impact. For the Canadian-born players on TFC, it's a matter of pride that they do.
"It's Canadian pride here," Toronto-born defender Ashtone Morgan said on the importance of the matches (via Canada Sports). "I think last year we had a sour taste in our mouth and we're looking to bounce back this year, and looking to get the trophy."
For veteran striker Dwayne De Rosario, the Canadian championship has a special place near and dear to his heart.
"For me it was a first championship coming back home, a championship for my city, a championship for TFC, and it was a special moment," De Rosario said. "And hopefully I can create another special moment tomorrow and win back that trophy for this club."
