Wes Welker has agreed to join the Denver Broncos after failing to reach an agreement to re-sign with the New England Patriots. NFL Network's Albert Breer, who first reported of talks between the two on the channel's free agency special, reports Welker and the Broncos agreed to a two year, $12 million deal.

Welker, 31, received the franchise tag and a $9.5 million salary for the 2012 season and finished with a team-high 118 catches, 1,354 yards and six touchdowns for New England last season. Welker became the first player in NFL history with five 110-catch seasons and has averaged 112 receptions during his six seasons as a Patriot.

Welker leaves one future Hall of Fame quarterback for another, departing from Tom Brady and joining Peyton Manning. The Bronco's wide receiving corps adds Welker to a group that already includes DeMaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, who improved statistically since Manning's arrival last season.
