Two clubs in the top four of the NWSL will do battle today in a league match between the Seattle Reign and FC Kansas City. The first-division clash scheduled for 8 p.m. ET will be held at Verizon Wireless Field in Kansas City and can be live streamed free in the embedded video above.
Is there a better club in professional women's soccer than the Seattle Reign? Don't answer that. It's a rhetorical question. The NWSL leaders enter today's match riding an unblemished mark, winning their first seven matches of the season by a combined 12-4 score.
That unbeaten mark was tested just last Wednesday when Kansas City visited the Reign Moda Pitch Memorial Stadium. A 2-0 lead for Seattle was eviscerated after Erika Tymrak and Lauren Holiday were able to mount the Kansas City comeback. The feeling of elation, however, was short lived. Keelin Winters was able to find the match-winner in the 76th minute, extending Seattle's unbeaten run.
