The Miami Heat evened the Eastern Conference Finals with an 87-83 Game 2 victory Tuesday night over the Pacers in Indianapolis. With the win, Miami gained home-court advantage, which Indiana desperately coveted since falling short to the Heat in seven games during last year's conference finals.
But the Pacers now face a bigger problem. All-Star forward Paul George was diagnosed with a concussion a few hours after getting kicked in the head by Heat guard Dwyane Wade.
George’s status for Game 3 has not yet been determined. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter when George and Wade scrambled for a loose ball; each player was shaken up during the scrum. George said after the game that he “blacked out” following the hit and for the rest of the game his vision was “pretty blurry.”
The NBA released a statement concerning George, whose status will be reevaluated after he undergoes the leagues’ tests. Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals will take place Saturday night in Miami.
