The Cleveland Cavaliers walked away as the big winner of the NBA draft lottery and now they have all the necessary pieces to get back on track and into contention in the Eastern Conference. Reports are surfacing that the Cavaliers will look at all options, including trading the top pick to secure proven talent.

Cavaliers general manager David Griffin made no guarantees as to what the team would do with the pick, butith it’s high value as compared to the 2013 draft, the Cavs should have plenty on interest in the pick. If the Cavaliers do move out of the top spot, they could be looking to do something groundbreaking. The Plain Dealer's Mary Schmitt Boyer was first with the report.

In the grand scheme of things, the Cavaliers would love to be able to attract LeBron James back to Cleveland, but how much star power would they need to do so? Sam Smith of Bulls.com believes that it all starts with the Cavaliers snagging Kevin Love from Minnesota and then using the additional cap space to make a play on James.

Cleveland also wants to be in the mix. They have the ninth best odds, but they also have a roster of young players. And if they could put together something with all those picks and young players and keep Kyrie Irving, then with Love and Irving that would look like a nice destination for the return of LeBron James, especially given the vulnerabilities that are becoming apparent with the Heat.

The Cavaliers could go from lottery to championship contenders if the offseason plays out in their favor and in the coming weeks we will see just how much maneuvering they can do.
