Bill Goldberg has reportedly been interested in a WWE return for some time, but his talks with the company haven't gone that far, though the former WCW and WWE World Champion told Jim Ross on his latest Ross Report podcast that he remains interested in returning.

Goldberg appeared on Ross' podcast and told him that he and the WWE had initial talks that didn't get that far but he also told him that he made the company aware that he is interested in returning to the squared circle at least for one final match.

Goldberg has always wanted his son to see him wrestle and after 10 years away from the ring he may be inching towards a return.

"My last conversation with the WWE brass, which was a while ago, was to the effect that I have a seven-year-old son who I'd love to see me wrestle and that whatever differences we've had in the past, if you guys wanna make some money and do this again then I'd be willing to talk about it," Goldberg told Ross.

Goldberg went 173-0 during his initial run through WCW and eventually came to WWE in a stint that saw him achieve success but also had a less than stellar ending. Goldberg fought Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX in Madison Square Garden in an infamous match where the fans turned on both competitors due to the knowledge that they were both leaving shortly after the event.

Amid boos from a raucous New York City crowd -- which only seemed to care about special guest referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin -- Goldberg and Lesnar labored through the match and both later admitted they didn't want to be there.

Ross asked Goldberg about whether or not he had any regret about not being able to work "big money" matches with Steve Austin and The Undertaker.

"It'd still be huge money, I ain't dead yet," Goldberg said about coming back to face top-tier WWE talent. "Once I dove head-first into that business you can't help as a competitor to look at the top guys and want to have a program with them. Me and Austin would have been unbelievable. Me and 'Taker would have been unbelievable...I was at the right place at the wrong time."

Goldberg was then asked about who he'd like to face if he came back.

"I'm more of a talent and less of a booker than anyone else, I'm a performer not an entertainer," Goldberg said. "You tell me the direction I'll go and I'll go there in two seconds."

Goldberg did eventually drop names of Superstars he wouldn't mind taking on.

"Whether it's Hunter or Brock...Hunter and I will always have unfinished business until the day I die and Brock and I will always have unfinished business in the ring," Goldberg said. "Whether it's Roman Reigns or anybody...hey man it is what it is, whoever it is I don't care...As long as it makes sense I'm in for it."

It remains to be seen if Goldberg will return, but perhaps sometime soon the wrestling world will find out "Who's Next."
