LeSean McCoy proudly pronounces himself a member of the Johnny Manziel fan club.

"I'm a Johnny guy," McCoy told told ProFootballTalk.com. "I really am, since college. He's played in the best conference [SEC], he's played well, he has tons of swag. I mean he's an athlete. He's a quarterback and I thought he'd be a good matchup for us."

The Eagles had a chance to land Manziel with the No. 22 pick in the recent NFL draft, but traded the pick to the Browns who then nabbed the former Heisman Trophy winner now rumored to be in position to land the team's starting job.

"Nick is good," McCoy said of the current Eagles starting quarterback.. "I don't think people really appreciate him because he is so new. He can play. I think when we move a guy like Michael Vick and Michael Vick can still play, to put Nick in the position to start he must be doing something good. You'll really see this year he's the real deal."

During his two seasons at Texas A&M, Manziel established himself as one of the NCAA's all-time greats, including becoming the first freshman and fifth player in NCAA history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 in the same season.

During his 2012 Heisman winning season, Manziel passed for 3,706 yards and 26 touchdowns. Manziel followed up those exploits by throwing for 4,114 yards and 37 touchdowns.
