The NFL is at the top of its game right now and the money is rolling in, but changes are coming that will likely end in more dollars for the big wigs of the NFL. The NFL will meet this week and discuss playoff expansion, the NFL draft date and where the draft will take place.

The NFL draft has quickly risen to be one of the highlights of the NFL calendar and is coming off a year in which they dominated the NBA Playoffs whilst not having a single play of football. The NFL is setting the bar for television ratings so all other networks will be watching carefully as to where the draft sets up shop in 2015. The date of the draft can have a major ripple effect across the NBA and NHL.

The location of the draft is an argument the NFL has had amongst themselves for many years now and it seems 2015 will be the first time the draft moves out of New York City. The likely destination for the draft will be Chicago and the NFL will gauge interest in other areas going forward.

The final discussion the owners will likely have this week will be if the NFL Playoffs should expand to 14 teams from the previous 12. Peter King of MMQB believes the idea will be table until 2015, but it will be passed for the 2015 season. King does not approve of the move and also hinted at the idea that the NFL will look to expansion to 16 teams when they see how successful 14 teams will be.
