Minnesota Vikings first year coach Mike Zimmer will let Teddy Bridgewater show his worth and make his claim early as the Louisville quarterback will take reps with the Vikings' first team when organized team activities start.

Zimmer told reporters Friday that Bridgewater has been a student of the game and should get accustomed to the first team guys as early as possible. He also commented and said that Bridgewater is still third on the depth chart.

"[Bridgewater] is throwing the ball good. I think he's got a good presence, a good command of the way he's taking things. It was good for him to be out here with the veteran quarterbacks a little bit last week for a few days.”

"It's not like, 'Hey, I'm throwing an out now,’. He would say the whole formation, the whole play, what it's on and go from there, just repeat it as he goes. That was impressive.”

Bridgewater also spoke about the opportunity and all the help that veterans Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel have provided for him.

"Matt and Christian have been here for a while now, and those guys have been taking me under their wing and teaching me from a field standpoint and a film standpoint,”

Will Bridgewater get the nod to start when the season starts or will the Vikings stick to their game plan and sit Bridgewater until he gets a feel for the NFL?
