Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez has been indicted on murder charges fingering him as the suspected triggerman in a 2012 drive-by, double slaying in downtown Boston.

According to WCVB, the already jailed former New England Patriots tight end is accused of gunning down Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu and Safiro Teixeira Furtado on the night of July 16, 2012 as the men stopped at a traffic light following a night of partying at Cure nightclub.

Video surveillance puts Aaron Hernandez at scene of double killing

Video surveillance retrieved from the area reportedly shows the vehicle Hernandez was traveling in circling the men at least twice as they walk from the club to a nearby parking lot around 2:00 a.m. A third man traveling in the shot up vehicle, since identified as Aquilino Freire, was also also hit during the brazen attack and has described the shooter to police as a "light-skinned Hispanic man."

The 24-year-old Hernandez remains jailed without bail and refined to solitary confinement at the Bristol County House of Corrections on first-degree murder charges in the June 2013 execution-style killing of one-time associate Odin Lloyd.

Carlos Ortiz not testifying against Aaron Hernandez?

Police have since speculated Hernandez may have killed the 27-year-old Lloyd based on his knowledge of other crimes the former Florida star is suspected of having been involved in. Reportedly, the vehicle believed to have been used in the drive-by shooting was later found hidden in a garage rented to a Hernandez family member.

Hernandez has pled not guilty in the Lloyd case.
