In a shocking turn of events, Steve Kerr has spurned the Knicks in favor of being the next head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Kerr has signed a five-year, $25 million deal to be the team's next head coach after all reports had him going to New York to be under his former coach Phil Jackson.

The Knicks now have to start from square one as they have not even thought of another candidate other than Kerr. Mark Jackson is still available and he could be a great silver medal after missing out on Kerr. Phil Jackson now has his first test as the Knicks' president as he now has to go back to the drawing board to find the next coach. Does Jackson, himself, come into play now?

As for Kerr, he inherits a team with a massive amount of talent in the form of centerpiece Stephen Curry. Reports have surfaced that Kerr chose the Warriors because he was not a popular choice among the New York brass and he would want to make some unpopular changes to the staff. Kerr now finds himself in a much more stable place with the Warriors and out of the shadow of Phil Jackson.

Kerr told Jackson he had picked the Warriors for family reasons and even said that he believed the Warriors would land Stan Van Gundy. When Van Gundy choose the Pistons, the Warriors put all their eggs into the Kerr basket, and Kerr favored Golden State all along.
