Two nations looking to return to form will do battle today in an international friendly between Germany and Poland. The German World Cup tune-up scheduled for 2:45 p.m. ET will be held at the Imtech Arena in Hamburg and be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on Univision Deportes.
With the 2014 World Cup in Brazil just one month away, preparations must be made. For the German national team, it starts with a friendly against their European neighbors, Poland. The result will ultimately be meaningless, but will still serve as an opportunity to improve the form of German players. That, above all else, is what matters to head coach Joachim Low (h/t to the Daily Mail). "At the moment, we have only seven or eight players who are in top form," Low told Stern magazine on Wednesday.
"This whole situation is causing some headache," he added.
He went on to address his team's chances in Brazil.
"We have our chances to win the title, but other teams have equally big chances. This is something no one wants to hear at the moment. As a coach, you are always with your back to the wall. If you win, then you are celebrated like a Messiah for the whole people, but when you lose a game, then you are public enemy number one."
Will Germany avoid being public enemy number one by performing well against Poland in Hamburg this afternoon?
