Last week, TNA Impact Wrestling held a deluxe series of tapings for both TV shows through June 12 and two TNA One Night Only PPV offerings (Victory Road and Knockouts Knockdown). All of the tapings took place at the TNA Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida, and while everything was filmed as planned the TNA production crew reportedly came close to walking out mid-week due to lagging payments.
As reported by PWInsider.com, the threat of a walkout by the TNA production crew happened because many workers backstage were mad about TNA management being behind on payments. However, word got back to TNA management in time for officials to quickly issue payments to the production crew and the staff decided to keep working uninterrupted for the rest of the week.
The overall impression is that money is as tight as ever in TNA and so there was tension with the production crew until they were paid. (Credit: TNAInsider.com)
Meanwhile, one of the rumored reasons why Frankie Kazarian was cut by TNA this week also had to do with money . According to WrestlingHeadlines.com, Kazarian's contract not being renewed was a pure cost-cutting measure because TNA feels that they can sign two younger talents to new deals rather than keep veterans like Kaz onboard.
CB's Analysis: You can't just have a roster of rookies to carry your entire show, yet TNA is heading in a direction where nearly every veteran is being let go because of money issues. This doesn't bode well for the company considering many of their recent cuts have been popular TNA performers such as Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian, who added a ton of entertainment value to the overall presentation of the TNA product.
