According to ESPN, talks between Kerr and the Knicks are progressing towards the final stages and an agreement could be reached soon as talks are expected to pick up again on Monday.

The report indicates that while the Golden State Warriors have had interest in landing Kerr, his talks with the Knicks are "pretty far down the road" and could lead to the team hiring him soon while the Warriors aren't very optimistic he'll take their offer.

Multiple reports have indicated that the deal between the two sides could be finalized sometime this week and that Kerr may even accompany team president Phil Jackson to Chicago for the NBA draft combine that begins on Thursday.

Kerr has reportedly been engaging in talks with his family about what to do as he anticipates his next television assignment for TNT, which is Game 5 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. Kerr is reportedly weighing the options of returning to broadcast for TNT next year or coaching the Knicks.

Kerr has a storied relationship with Jackson, and he remains as the only person that Jackson has talked to about the coaching vacancy since he fired Woodson and his staff shortly after the conclusion of the Knicks season, which saw the team go 37-45.

Reports indicated that Kerr, who has never coached before but used to be the Phoenix Suns general manager, was seeking a five-year deal worth $25-30 million, but the figures may have changed.

Kerr has received interest from not only the Warriors, but also the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers, however reports indicate that he is weighing the Knicks job over any other options due to his relationship with Jackson.

While nothing is official right now, it seems like Kerr and the Knicks are inching towards a deal.
