New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen's sprawling mansion in California is close to being sold to hip-hop star Dr. Dre, sources told NY Post.

The mansion, with an area of 14,000 square feet with six bedrooms and a state-of-the-art gym, has an asking price of $50 million. Other features include an infinity pool, library and waterfall. Dr. Dre is said to have made an offer near the price tag of the palatial pad in Brentwood with Apple's bid to purchase Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion.

According to the source of NY Post: "Dre put an offer on the mansion as soon as it came on the market, and is a few weeks away from closing."

The mansion is also environment-friendly made of environment-friendly construction materials, gray-water technology for irrigation, and two arrays of PV solar panels, one situated close to the garden and the other placed on the roof. It has been featured in the Architectural Digest.

Just last March, it was reported that the three-time Super Bowl champion and Brazilian supermodel were moving out of the mansion. The celebrity couple is said to be moving to New England full-time, and are currently in the process of completing a 14,000 square foot home with five bedrooms, four bedrooms, a spa, yoga studio and motor cellar.

Dre's offer to the couple follows news that Apple was inching closer to purchasing his headphone manufacturing company. The hip-hop star has reportedly called himself the first billionaire of hip-hop suggesting that the deal was done.
