Georgetown coach John Thompson III is being credited with possibly reviving former Hoyas star Roy Hibbert's sagging season and maybe the Indiana Pacers NBA title hopes.

According to CSNWashington.com, Thompson spoke with the 7-foot-2, 290 lb. All-Star center in the days prior to his 28-point, nine-rebound, two-block performance against the Wizards Wednesday night, leading the Pacers to an 86-82 win and evening their Eastern Conference semifinals round series at 1-1.

Did Paul George sleep with Roy Hibbert's fiancee?

Hibbert's heroics came after he recorded zero points and had zero rebounds in a Game 1 home court loss to the Wiz, representing the third time he has recorded such a dubious distinction. Over the course of his slump, Hibbert has constantly complained about what he called "selfish" teammates and more recently rumors surfaced that he and team star Paul George were feuding amid reports George had sleep with his fiancee.

Buth with Thompson sitting courtside on Wednesday, Hibbert also largely controlled the paint for the Pacers, making it difficult for John Wall and Bradley Beal as they drove the basket and for Nene to post up.

Roy Hibbert's slump continues

Afterwards, Thompson wouldn't reveal much of what he said to Hibbert, but Pacers fans everywhere were thanking him for his game-changing words, whatever they may have been.

The Wizards host the Pacers Friday night in a critical Game 3 and Pacers fans everywhere undoubtedly are hoping Thompson will be somewhere in the house.
