The coverage of the first round is still hot and ongoing, but reports are surfacing that would shake up the top of the second round Friday. The Houston Texans are fielding offers for the No. 33 overall pick and it begs the question: are they going all in on Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that many teams are calling the Texans about the availability of the No. 33 pick to draft USC wide receiver Marqise Lee, who has fallen from the first round graces. This move is very similar to when the Tennessee Titans traded up to draft Tennessee’s Justin Hunter who has fallen down a bit.

If Lee really is the prize at the top of the second round, the Texans should field as many offers as possible and move back in the second round. The Texans are reportedly interested in Notre Dame’s Louis Nix III and Stephen Tuitt to go with Jadeveon Clowney and J.J. Watt on the Texans defense. The Texans will likely be able to get either of the Notre Dame prospects if they trade back, but will they find a spot they are comfortable with.

The Texans are also interested in walking away from Friday’s action with New England Patriot backup quarterback Ryan Mallett. If the Texans can secure some more picks from moving out of the No. 33 spot, it might make the decision to deal for Mallett much easier on Bill O’Brien.
