HBO’s hit NFL reality show Hard Knocks is inching closer to finding a team to be the subject of this years show, but who will it be. With the new rules in place that give the NFL the right to force a team to be on it, the eight eligible teams await their fate.

According to Deadspin, a team has volunteered to be on Hark Knocks, but the search is ongoing and nothing is set in stone. The team has yet to be revealed to the public and no one has claimed that they are the team who has volunteered. Deadspin also reports from a source that the New York Giants, one of the eight eligible teams that can be forced onto the show, will not be the team featured.

The remaining seven teams that could be forced to go on the controversial show include the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers. The guidelines in which the league agreed to allows for a team to be picked to appear on the show considering how hostile teams acted toward being on the show the last two years.

The rules that allow a team to be exempt from appearing on the show are a team has a new head coach, has to had made the playoffs in one of the previous two seasons, or has already appeared on the show in the last 10 years.

Expect an announcement by the NFL and HBO in June, but for those of us that watch the show week in and week out are crossing our fingers for the Steelers, Bears or the Rams if they come away with Johnny Manziel.
