Two clubs in the bottom half of the Premier League table will do battle today in a league match between Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion. The first-division clash scheduled for 2:45 p.m. ET will be held at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland and can be live streamed here free.
For Sunderland, today's match could serve as the one that ensures the club remains in England's top-flight. Either a draw or a win would suffice to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League, mathematically relegating Norwich City in the process. For manager Gus Poyet, doing so would be his greatest achievement (h/t to the Guardian). "It will definitely be my biggest achievement. I have no doubt because it's been difficult, I can tell you," said Poyet after inheriting a side with only one point from seven games.
"Staying up will nearly, probably, feel like winning something," he added.
"Normally you don't celebrate when you finish 16th or 15th in the league, but we will."
The result, however, must come first. Will Sunderland be able to obtain it against West Brom this afternoon? Tell us @SportsWN
