Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens faceoff live from Bell Centre in Montreal for Game 3 of their Round 2 best-of-seven series as part of the 2014 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The game can be live streamed for free here. Boston fans can hear all of the action on WBZ 1030 while Montreal fans can do the same on TSN 690.
After a Game 2 comeback victory, Boston looks to take the first of a two-game road swing as this series shifts to Canada for the first time while Montreal hopes to bounce back from a tough loss and use home-ice to gain a 2-1 series edge.
The Canadiens won Game 1 in overtime last Thursday while the Bruins roared back in the third period of Game 2 and ended up earning a 5-3 victory to even up the series as it comes to Montreal for the first time.
The Bruins trailed 3-1 against the Canadiens on Saturday before scoring four goals in nine minutes to take a much-needed home win, but the team isn't feeling overly confident due to the inability of its special teams thus far. Boston has yielded four goals out of nine tries on the penalty kill and is 0-for-6 on the power play through the first two games.
"I think the biggest thing, when you look at the goals they have scored, they have come from the point and somehow we haven't been able to get into that shooting lane," coach Claude Julien said per NHL.com.
The Canadiens are glad to be coming home where they are 2-0 in the postseason after sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning in Round 1, though the team will work at better protecting leads.
"We want to play two games where it's tough for any team to play in the NHL and we're out of there with the series tied," Montreal coach Michel Therrien told NHL.com. "That's the big picture."
P.K. Subban is 2-2--4 this series while riding a five-game point streak and paces the Canadiens with nine points this postseason off of two goals and seven assists while Brendan Gallagher (three tallies, three helpers) and Lars Eller (two goals, four assists) each have six points apiece.
The Bruins have been led by Patrice Bergeron, who has eight points off of two goals and six assists while defenseman Torey Krug has two markers and five helpers for seven points and Milan Lucic (four goals, two assists) and defenseman Dougie Hamilton (two tallies, four helpers) each have six points. Bergeron and Hamilton are riding six-game and five-game point streaks respectively.
Tuukka Rask will man the crease for Boston and is 5-2 in the playoffs and leads all goaltenders goals-against average (1.71) and save percentage (.939) while Carey Price will suit up between the pipes for Montreal and is 5-1 this postseason with a 2.54 GAA and a .910 save percentage.
The Bruins and Canadiens both look to take command of this best-of-seven series when the puck drops on them tonight at the Bell Centre in Montreal as part of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
