Odell Beckham has started to surge up the draft boards, but he will not be able to pass Mike Evans by Thursday’s draft. Regardless of his ranking, teams have been making calls in order to trade up for the LSU product who many scouts think won’t make it past the No. 15 pick.
The Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers are all teams rumored to be searching for a trade partner in the top 15. The Eagles are the least likely to make the move, as many of the local Philadelphia beat writers believe the team will target Marquis Lee and save the extra draft picks.
The two remaining teams might have found a trade partner in the Tennessee Titans, who are looking to add a third round pick or better ever since they started shopping Chris Johnson. The Titans would be in a great spot if the rumors surrounding Beckham's value are true and they can pull off a trade with the Jets or 49ers.
The rumored trade from the Tennessee beat would be the Titans and Jets would swap first round picks while the Jets surrender their second round pick for the Titans fourth. This is an even deal that would work out for both teams given what their needs are. The Jets add the deep threat they have needed in Beckham, while the Titans add the extra second rounder and the possibility of still landing UCLA’s Anthony Barr.
The 49ers could certainly offer the Titans more for the No. 11 pick, but to move back to the No. 30 pick could be too steep a price for Tennessee. The 49ers have to make it worth the Titans while if they are going to drop 19 picks.
