With Extreme Rules said and done, the WWE now looks ahead to Payback on June 1 live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, and it appears as though the card will be very similar to the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. We here at Sports World News will project the expected card while also putting on our booking hats and saying what we think should happen.

Message From Warrior Entertainment, Sitcom To Honor The Ultimate Warrior

Daniel Bryan should be defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Batista, but since Batista has refused to do another job to Bryan it appears as though the WWE is once again marching down the Bryan vs. Kane path and the Evolution vs. The Shield storyline will spill over into another match.

The WWE should find a way to have Batista work a match with Bryan and then throw Kane into a team with Triple H and Randy Orton to take on The Shield for two fresh matches rather than doing rematches of the prior month's event. Instead, it looks like Evolution will take on The Shield again, likely with some sort of stipulation while Kane will take on Bryan in a Buried Alive match.

Rumors For WWE Payback 2014

The WWE has never really provided closure on the feud between Jack Swagger and Cesaro, but after Monday Night RAW, it looks as though the WWE is going in the direction of having Cesaro continue to feud with Rob Van Dam while Swagger got into it with the debuting Adam Rose.

The WWE should have Swagger face Cesaro one-on-one, but it will likely be a Fatal 4 Way involving all of these guys or two separate one-on-one matches pitting Swagger vs. Rose and Cesaro vs. Van Dam. Swagger and Rose may not make the card.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust have had some tension within their ranks and have been feuding with Curtis Axel and Ryback. The only problem is that the Tag Team Champion Usos aren't involved, and should likely be added to make it a three-way tag match for the gold at Payback.

The 3MB and Hornswoggle struggle with Los Matadores and El Torito will likely end up rolling into a mixed tag match of some kind with members of 3MB teaming with Hornswoggle to take on Los Matadores and El Torito, likely on the pre-show.

Sheamus is the new WWE United States Champion, and while a match with Dean Ambrose makes sense since Ambrose is due a rematch, Ambrose is mixed up in the Evolution feud and likely won't face Sheamus in a rematch at the event. Sheamus is reportedly turning heel soon which means he may have a babyface to feud with, and that could possibly be The Big Show given the WWE's knack for liking big wrestlers.

The struggle between John Cena and Bray Wyatt will likely extend to this show as they have each swapped wins over the last few months and should have the rubber match on June 1.

Big E and Wade Barrett will likely also extend their feud over the Intercontinental Championship into this show while Paige will take on a low-level Diva like Alicia Fox to continue to get her over.
